His disappearance during the filming of this advert in the Outer Hebrides in 1980 captivated the nation, sparking a massive search. He was eventually found 24 days later, significantly lighter, after a dramatic rescue.
The documentary also touches on Andy Robin's passing in 2019 and Maggie's reflections on their life with Hercules. The bear, who was voted Personality of the Year by the Scottish Tourist Board in 1980, passed away in 2000 due to illness. A statue was later erected in his honor, and Andy Robin was laid to rest beside his beloved "big fella."
