Summary
- Cape of Good Films LLP asserts sole rights to Hera Pheri 3.
- Director Priyadarshan alleged repeated insults from producer.
- Film's fate remains uncertain due to legal and directorial issues.
Cape of Good Films LLP, owned by Akshay Kumar, has asserted its exclusive and irrevocable rights to produce and commercially exploit the film currently titled 'Hera Pheri 3'. This declaration was made via a public notice issued on July 4, 2026, intended for all stakeholders in the Indian film industry.
The notice cautions against any dealings concerning the film's rights without prior written authorization from Cape of Good Films LLP, warning that non-compliance will be at the recipient's own risk.
This development occurs amid considerable uncertainty surrounding 'Hera Pheri 3'. Filmmaker Priyadarshan recently stepped away from directing, making serious allegations against producer Firoz Nadiadwala regarding personal insults during their professional interactions.
Priyadarshan expressed belief that the film could have become a major franchise if he had remained involved. He recounted instances where Nadiadwala allegedly insulted his directorial work and conveyed a strong personal aversion to him directing 'Hera Pheri 3'.
The project has faced numerous challenges since its inception. Paresh Rawal had a temporary exit from the cast in May 2025 before rejoining, and the film continues to be mired in ongoing legal entanglements and production hurdles.
