Bleecker Street has partnered with LD Entertainment to distribute Anton Corbijn's "A Talent For Murder" in the United States, with a theatrical release planned for the fall. The film stars Oscar winner Helen Mirren as the renowned author Patricia Highsmith.
Directed by Anton Corbijn and adapted from Joanna Murray-Smith's 2014 play "Switzerland," the movie features Alden Ehrenreich as a young New York literary agent. His character is tasked with convincing Highsmith to pen a final installment in the Ripley series.
"A Talent For Murder" boasts a notable cast including Olivia Cooke, and is produced by a collaborative team including Gabrielle Tana, Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, Troy Lum, Andrew Mason, Jim Robison, Kurt Martin, Carolyn Marks Blackwood, Karl Spoerri, and Andrea Occhipinti. The film received financing from Head Gear Films, Metrol Technology, and LD Entertainment.
FilmNation Entertainment is managing international sales for the project. Bleecker Street's CEO, Kent Sanderson, expressed excitement about reuniting with LD and Helen Mirren for this tribute to Highsmith's life and literary contributions. LD Entertainment's Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon also shared their enthusiasm for Corbijn's vision and the performances by Mirren, Ehrenreich, and Cooke.
