- Performances are strong, but film is a tiresome watch.

Daali Pictures' latest production, Heggana Muddu, directed by Avinash Balekkala, presents a compelling premise centered on Ajith, a man plagued by extreme suspicion and behavioral issues, who marries Prerana. The film delves into the complexities of trust and doubt within a marriage, with Poornachandra Mysore and Adithi Sagar delivering grounded performances.
However, the narrative struggles with pacing, as director Avinash Balekkala lingers on scenes longer than necessary, stretching a thin subject to feature length. This indulgence, ironically echoing the film's title meaning 'a parent's darling,' leads to padding and a stagey feel that tests audience patience.
The second half shifts focus, introducing police elements and a convoluted backstory that feels disjointed from the first half. The climax and the resolution, particularly regarding Prerana's ex-boyfriend, appear as convenient plot devices rather than organic story developments, making the happy ending difficult to accept.
Technically, the editing and cinematography, including shaky long takes, do not enhance the emotional impact. While the film contains honest performances and some humorous moments, its potential for a sharp study of a suspicious man is undermined by a weak screenplay and pacing issues, resulting in a tiresome viewing experience.
