Rock Hairdresser Nominated for Top Award

Simon Tuckwell, a hairstylist with nearly 25 years of experience, has been nominated for celebrity hairstylist of the year at the prestigious Pro Hair Awards. Known as the "Heavy Metal Hairdresser," Tuckwell recently styled hair for artists and attendees at the Download festival, including bands like Architects and Creeper. The 38-year-old stylist, who operates an alternative and metal-themed salon in Nottingham, described the nomination as "mind-blowing."

Tuckwell has been cutting hair for 24 years and has been a fixture in Nottingham for 16 years. He attributes his business growth to social media, through which he discovered his shortlisting for the award. He acknowledged past doubts about his unconventional approach being recognized by the industry, making this nomination feel particularly incredible and surprising given his unique focus.
