- Director Vikram Bhatt believes only horror films star accepted in South.

The teaser for Vikram Bhatt's horror film, Haunted - Echoes Of The Past, was released on May 5, signaling the start of its promotional campaign. The film is notable for its planned release in both Tamil and Telugu, a strategy director Vikram Bhatt discussed in a recent interview. He shared that his previous films have also found success in pan-India releases.
Bhatt expressed that Hindi cinema stars haven't been universally embraced in the South, but horror films have. He cited the success of his 2008 film '1920', which was dubbed in Telugu and English, as evidence of the genre's appeal. The director believes that releasing films in local languages significantly expands their reach.
Haunted - Echoes Of The Past features Mimoh Chakraborty, reprising his role from the first 'Haunted' film. He is joined by Chetna Pande, Shruti Prakash, Gaurav Bajpai, Praneet Bhatt, and Hemant Pandey. Produced by Anand Pandit and Rakesh Juneja, the film is scheduled for a worldwide release on June 12. Despite the original 'Haunted' being a sleeper hit in 2011, Bhatt remains confident, noting that his successful films have historically been sleeper hits and that profitability is assured through digital, satellite, and music rights sales.
