Harry Styles' Mansion Project Delayed by Invasive Weeds

Pop star Harry Styles' plans for a sprawling mega-mansion in north London have encountered significant delays due to the discovery of dangerous invasive weeds. The project, which involves combining two historic homes in Hampstead into a luxury pad with four bedrooms, a gym, cinema, and art gallery, was initially slated for completion by October 2027. However, the purchase of one property for £6.25 million in June 2024 has been complicated by the extensive weed infestation.

Experts have identified four types of invasive weeds, including Buddleia, Horsetail, Montbretia, and Rhododendron ponticum. The latter two are legislated species, making their removal more complex. A report indicated nearly 25 square metres of weeds, capable of causing structural damage and harming wildlife. Specialists are now required to excavate seven metres below the surface to safely remove the weeds and dispose of them at licensed facilities, adding a considerable challenge to the renovation.
