Harry Redknapp Lost Smell in Devastating 1990 Car Crash

Former football manager Harry Redknapp recounted a harrowing near-death experience from 1990. While en route to the FIFA World Cup in Italy, the minibus carrying Redknapp and three companions was involved in a severe collision with a vehicle carrying three Italian soldiers. Redknapp sustained serious injuries, including a fractured skull, broken nose, and cracked ribs, and was initially thought to be dead upon arrival at the hospital. However, he fully recovered, though he permanently lost his sense of smell as a result of the crash. Tragically, AFC Bournemouth managing director Brian Tiler, who occupied Redknapp's usual seat in the minibus, died in the accident along with the three servicemen.
