Halo Campaign Evolved, set to launch on July 28, 2026, reimagines the classic campaign with a blend of original content and modern enhancements. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the game aims to be more accessible and user-friendly than its predecessor.
Creative director Max Szlagor described the remake as a meticulous process of "crafting it piece by piece," integrating a 25-year-old Halo simulation with a contemporary Unreal Engine renderer. Nine new weapons have been introduced, ensuring they seamlessly fit alongside iconic elements like the Energy Sword and vehicle hijacking.
Executive producer Damon Conn highlighted the focus on modernizing the shooter experience, including features like a sprint button that players can toggle on or off. Enhanced waypointing has also been implemented to aid players in navigating levels more easily, a significant improvement over the trial-and-error navigation of the original. The game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X, Series S, and PC.
