Halle Berry Accuses Ex of Turning Son Against Her

Halle Berry is reportedly striking back at her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, over claims he is negatively influencing their 13-year-old son, Maceo. In recent court filings, Berry alleged that Maceo returns from custodial time with Martinez angry and combative, often repeating disputes and siding with his father. This follows Martinez being granted primary custody and a temporary restraining order against Berry, stemming from an accusation that she choked Maceo during an argument.

Berry further contended that Martinez's actions have negatively impacted Maceo, causing him to fall behind in school and worsening his acting-out behaviors. She believes this has further damaged their mother-son relationship. Earlier, Martinez presented text messages from Berry following the alleged choking incident, where she expressed distress over Maceo's disrespect and questioned his behavior.

Martinez’s filing also mentioned prior instances of Berry using chokeholds on Maceo. However, Berry has denied these allegations, stating they are inconsistent with her as a mother and has claimed to be a victim of domestic violence herself. As of October 5, 2026, a judge amended Martinez's temporary restraining order, affirming Berry's final decision-making authority regarding Maceo's mental health and education.
