A new six-episode drama, "Half Man," created by Richard Gadd, is set to premiere on BBC iPlayer on April 24, with transmissions following on BBC One and BBC Scotland within the week. The series will also debut in the US on HBO and HBO Max on April 23.
New artwork features BAFTA winner Jamie Bell as Niall and Richard Gadd as Ruben, two brothers whose lives are intertwined from youth through decades of complex circumstances. Their bond, forged through shared experiences, faces a critical test when Ruben's unexpected appearance at Niall's wedding precedes an explosion of violence.
This event propels the narrative back through 30 years, from the 1980s to the present day, examining the fragility of male relationships and the enduring impact of brotherhood. The series stars Mitchell Robertson and Stuart Campbell as younger versions of Niall and Ruben, respectively, with Neve McIntosh and Marianne McIvor portraying their mothers.
"Half Man" is produced by Mam Tor Productions in association with Thistledown Pictures for BBC iPlayer, BBC One, BBC Scotland, and HBO. International distribution outside of BBC and HBO rights is handled by Banijay Rights. The production is supported by Screen Scotland.
