Hacks Star Slams AI Creators as 'Losers'

As the fifth and final season of Hacks approaches, star Hannah Einbinder has voiced strong criticism against generative AI, labeling its creators as "losers" and asserting they are attempting to "rob real creative people of our gifts." Einbinder, a four-time Golden Globe nominee, expressed her belief that those behind generative AI are not artists and lack true creativity, driven instead by a desire to be "special." She characterized their actions as an attempt to steal the talents of genuine artists.

Jen Statsky, a co-creator of Hacks, shared Einbinder's reservations, expressing doubt that generative AI is currently in "better hands." Statsky emphasized the critical need for regulatory "guardrails" and mechanisms to "protect the humanity both in art and people's livelihoods." She concluded that without such protections, the trend is detrimental. The upcoming fifth season of Hacks is set to premiere on April 9, featuring Einbinder's character Ava Daniels alongside Jean Smart's Deborah Vance.
