Gwyneth Paltrow's personal wardrobe is set to go under the hammer on March 24 at 6pm UK time. Described by the Goop founder as a "garage sale," the auction, titled "Bold Luxury: Gwyneth Paltrow Lexicon Of Style & The Archival Edit," will feature 504 lots.
The collection includes coveted designer pieces like the Atelier Versace ombre gown worn to the 2010 Country Music Awards, with an estimated value of $4,000 (£2,960), and a pale pink Ralph & Russo one-shoulder dress from the 2015 Oscars. These high-fashion items are expected to attract serious collectors.
However, the sale also offers more accessible items for the average fashion enthusiast. These range from Look Optic aviator reading glasses currently bid at $25/£18, to Saint Laurent duffel bags, Baume & Mercier watches, and a Solange Azagury-Partridge ring. Even items like a Rifat Ozbek jacket, estimated to be highly sought after, have bids starting at $800/£592.
Beyond clothing and accessories, the auction will include furniture, Fender Stratocaster guitars, and personal mementos like family photos. Paltrow stated her motivation for the sale was to give these treasured items a new life with different owners, spurred by a storage unit fire and the sale of her Los Angeles home.
The live auction will be held at The Peninsula Beverly Hills. Interested bidders can register in advance or participate on the day of the sale via juliensauctions.com. The event runs from March 24 to March 25.
