Vijay Varma's 5-Year Wait: Gustakh Ishq Premieres Soon

Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh recently promoted their film 'Gustakh Ishq', slated for release on November 28. Varma, returning to the big screen after a five-year hiatus, made an emotional appeal for audience support. The film delves into themes of love and romance, with Shaikh describing the central concept as "Ool Jalool Ishq" – a tangled, indecisive form of affection.

The movie aims to transport viewers back to the pre-mobile phone era of the 1990s, a time characterized by the simplicity of waiting for missed calls and the comfort of analogue communication. Varma noted the film's nostalgic feel, comparing it to flipping through old photo albums and reminiscing about a bygone era. This deliberate setting seeks to resonate with audiences who experienced this period firsthand.

Working alongside veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, Shaikh expressed that experienced actors are often humble and collaborative. The film's production by fashion designer Manish Malhotra added another unique dimension, with Varma humorously noting that even a character's 'tattered' appearance would look stylish under Malhotra's production. Shaikh also fondly recalled Malhotra’s presence on set, which often meant delicious food and much-needed extended breaks.
