GTA 6 Ultimate Edition Tops Standard Sales

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has revealed that the Grand Theft Auto 6 Ultimate Edition is experiencing higher pre-order numbers than its Standard Edition. He indicated that the premium version, priced at $99.99, is being favored by consumers.

Zelnick suggested that this preference for the more expensive edition might reflect the engagement of the game's most dedicated fanbase among early adopters. Rockstar Games faced initial fan criticism in June when pre-orders opened, with some labeling the tiered content strategy as "scummy."

The Ultimate Edition includes the base game along with exclusive bonus content, such as special missions and in-game locations. While an upgrade for Standard Edition owners is expected, it has not yet been detailed.

Regarding potential discounts for Black Friday or Christmas, Zelnick was non-committal. He explained that while Take-Two sets pricing, retailers have the autonomy to adjust it, potentially impacting their profit margins. He drew a parallel to Grand Theft Auto 5, whose price remained stable for an extended period.
