Growing Pains Star Nearly Abducted On Set

Actress Ashley Johnson, known for her role on Growing Pains, recounted a terrifying incident from the show's first year of filming. She revealed on her podcast, Weird Kids, that she was nearly abducted from the set during a live taping. Johnson explained that an audience member who had threatened the cast with a gun rushed out of the crowd and grabbed her.

The assailant began running with Johnson, who was understandably upset and confused. Security personnel quickly intervened, apprehending the man before the abduction could be completed. Johnson recalled the struggle and the swift action of security that saved her. The attacker was high on substances, making him unusually strong during the attempt.
