The Great Grimsby Christmas Festival is scheduled to return next month, bringing a day of festive activities to the town centre on November 28th. Festivities will run from 12:00 to 19:00 GMT, culminating in the switching on of the Christmas tree lights at 17:45. Live entertainment, including local musicians and a gospel choir, will be featured on the main stage in St James' Square.
Attendees can explore a bustling Christmas market with over 30 local traders offering handmade gifts and festive treats across St James' Square and Grimsby Minster. A highlight of the festival will be the return of the Nordic Viking-themed parade, proudly sponsored by Ørsted. This year's procession will feature a striking willow lantern longboat as its centrepiece.
Residents interested in participating can attend a free willow lantern workshop on November 14th to create their own lanterns for the parade. Additionally, local businesses are invited to join a Nordic Viking-themed shop window competition, with entries due by November 26th. The winner will receive a £100 voucher for a local restaurant.
