In November 2025, a psychological thriller miniseries called "The Beast in Me" premiered, following the story of Aggie, a grieving author struggling to write her next book after the death of her son. Aggie blames a local teenager, Teddy, for her son's death due to drunk driving.
Aggie then meets her new neighbor, Nile, a wealthy man who recently moved in with his second wife, Nina. Despite knowing that Nile's first wife had mysteriously disappeared, Aggie finds herself drawn into investigating Nile's past. Her initial suspicions about Nile's involvement in his first wife's disappearance lead to a confusing connection, but Teddy's sudden disappearance and further digging uncover a different revelation.
Aggie realizes that Nile was responsible for the crimes, just as he frames her for Teddy's murder. However, Nina and others looking into Nile's past are able to get him arrested, and Nile is ultimately killed. In the finale, Nina gives birth to her and Nile's child, leaving her to question whether the baby will inherit Nile's worst traits.
