Guy Ritchie's highly anticipated action-thriller, "In the Grey," is gearing up for its release on May 15. The first trailer reveals a signature blend of sharp action and intense plotting from the director.
The film follows a covert team of elite operatives tasked with confronting a ruthless despot and recovering a substantial stolen fortune. The trailer prominently features Jake Gyllenhaal as the American operative Bronco and Henry Cavill as his British counterpart, Sid, both skilled in combat and explosives, guided by Eiza González.
Originally announced in 2023, "In the Grey" experienced production shifts, including an interim agreement allowing actors to work during the SAG-AFTRA strike. The film faced a schedule change when Lionsgate withdrew it, leading Black Bear, the production company, to assume U.S. distribution rights.
Ritchie has a prolific output, with "In the Grey" following recent projects like "The Covenant" and "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare." The director also has "Wife and Dog" nearing release and "Viva La Madness" in production, alongside television projects "MobLand" and "Young Sherlock."
