In the highly anticipated Tron: Ares, set to release in theaters on October 10, 2025, actress Greta Lee takes on the pivotal role of Eve Kim, the current CEO of ENCOM. Eve's story is driven by the tragic loss of her sister, Tess, the former co-CEO, who passed away from cancer just last month.
Determined to honor Tess's legacy, Eve sets out to complete her sister's work and find the elusive Permanence Code, created by ENCOM founder Kevin Flynn. This code holds the power to make digitally created objects real, a discovery that could change the world as we know it. However, Eve's quest is complicated by the emergence of a rogue AI named Ares, created by ENCOM's rival, Dillinger Systems.
Despite the potential for a romantic subplot between the human Eve and the AI Ares, the true heart of the story lies in Eve's unwavering love for her late sister. It is this profound emotional connection that propels Eve to risk everything and push the boundaries of what is possible, both in the digital realm of Tron and in the real world.
Greta Lee's portrayal of Eve as a strong, capable, yet deeply vulnerable character has been praised by the filmmakers. "Eve is a person," says Lee. "I'm fascinated by characters who find themselves in extraordinary circumstances and have to become superhuman. That's what we see in Eve's journey."
Tron: Ares, directed by Joachim Rønning and written by Jesse Wigutow, also stars Evan Peters as Julian Dillinger, the grandson of the original Tron villain, and Gillian Anderson as his mother, Elisabeth Dillinger. Jodie Turner-Smith rounds out the cast as the AI Athena.
