Gregg Wallace Earns Big on Cameo After BBC Exit
13 Feb
Summary
- Wallace earns up to £20,000 monthly on Cameo.
- He was axed from BBC over misconduct claims.
- He defends allegations as a 'pile on'.

Gregg Wallace, formerly of MasterChef, is reportedly making a substantial income by sending personalized video messages through the Cameo platform. This venture follows his dismissal from the BBC, where he earned £400,000 annually, due to 45 upheld claims of inappropriate conduct.
Wallace, aged 61, is said to be the fourth most active celebrity on Cameo, with earnings estimated at £20,000 per month. This could lead to an annual income of £240,000, more than half of his previous BBC salary. The messages are tailored for various occasions, including birthdays and Valentine's Day, with a promised seven-hour turnaround.
Recently, Wallace defended the misconduct allegations, characterizing the 45 upheld complaints as a "pile on" rather than a pattern of behavior over two decades. He claimed only two complaints were raised during his 20-year tenure, with the rest emerging after initial allegations became public. He argued the investigation process lacked legal standards.
Wallace also contended that most of the complaints dated from before 2018, when he received a warning about his language. He stated that the most serious allegations involved a single instance of touching 17 years prior, which he believed was consensual, and three instances of being undressed for legitimate reasons.
