Summary
- A Muslim household in Delhi faces chaotic family dynamics.
- Bani Ahmad juggles a university proposal with relatives' demands.
- Stellar performances highlight Indian family's humorous affection.

Set in a Delhi Muslim household, "The Great Shamsuddin Family" follows Bani Ahmad as she attempts to complete a critical proposal against an impending deadline. Her focus is disrupted by the arrival of her divorced cousin, Iram, who has been financially wronged, and another relative announcing an inter-caste marriage.
The influx of relatives, including elders Akko, Asiya, Safiya, and Nabeela, transforms the house into a scene of escalating chaos. Amidst unsolicited advice and dramatic subplots, Bani's personal aspirations clash with familial obligations, offering a humorous yet poignant portrayal of everyday Indian family life.
The film is lauded for its stellar performances, with Kritika Kamra anchoring the narrative. The older generation, particularly Farida Jalal, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Sheeba Chaddha, shines with their blend of humor and wisdom. While the movie captures the essence of Indian family bonds, its lengthy screenplay and repetitive writing are noted drawbacks.
