Gravity Squared to Adapt Barbara Cartland's Iconic Romance Novels for Screen

In a significant development, Gravity Squared Entertainment has announced that it will be representing the literary library of the late British author Barbara Cartland. To kick off this new partnership, Gravity Squared has attached acclaimed producer Mark Foligno, known for his work on The King's Speech, and director Matt Lipsey, who has helmed episodes of the hit series Ted Lasso, to adapt "a curated selection" of Cartland's renowned romance novels for the screen.

Cartland, who was awarded the title of British Dame, began her illustrious writing career in the 1920s, publishing her first book at the age of 22. Over the course of her prolific career, she went on to write over 700 books, selling a staggering 1 billion copies worldwide. This remarkable achievement solidified Cartland's status as one of the most popular British authors of all time. In fact, she even set a world record in 1976 by writing 23 books in a single year, a feat that stood for nearly two decades.

Many of Cartland's beloved romance novels have already been adapted for television and film over the years, including Hazard of Hearts, Cupid Rides Pillion, A Ghost in Monte Carlo, and A Duel of Hearts. Now, with Gravity Squared at the helm, a new generation of audiences will have the opportunity to experience the timeless magic of Cartland's storytelling.
