The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony experienced a notable number of high-profile absences. Several artists who were expected to attend, or who have previously won, were not present on the red carpet or at the event.
Among the notable no-shows were The Weeknd, whose latest album and collaboration did not receive nominations. Lorde also opted out, following a lack of recognition for her recent studio album. Taylor Swift was absent, reportedly due to wedding planning and not being up for any awards.
Beyoncé, who won Album of the Year last year, did not attend as her work fell outside the eligibility period. Timothée Chalamet, despite a nomination, was reportedly participating in a Q&A event in the UK. Similarly, Cynthia Erivo was in London for the Theatre Awards and preparing for a stage production.
Other artists missing included Gracie Abrams and Role Model, who did not receive nominations this year. Lisa of Blackpink cited a film shoot in South Korea as her reason for absence. H also skipped the event, with their album released outside the eligibility window.
