Grammys 2026 Snubs: Top Artists Overlooked, Country Acts Shut Out

The 2026 Grammy nominations have been met with surprise and controversy, as several high-profile artists were unexpectedly shut out of the awards.

One of the biggest snubs is The Weeknd, whose latest album Hurry Up Tomorrow failed to receive any nominations, including for Album of the Year. This comes just a few years after The Weeknd publicly feuded with the Recording Academy, boycotting the Grammys over a 2021 snub. Despite the Academy's efforts to address his concerns, it appears the relationship remains strained.

Another notable omission is Alex Warren, whose hit single "Ordinary" spent 10 weeks atop the Hot 100 this year but received no nominations in either the general field or genre categories. The lack of country representation in the Best New Artist category has also raised eyebrows, with strong contenders like Ella Langley and Megan Moroney being overlooked.

Elsewhere, Lorde made a highly anticipated return to music with her album Virgin, but it failed to garner any nominations. Other artists who were surprisingly snubbed include Reneé Rapp, Benson Boone, and Miley Cyrus, whose album Something Beautiful only received one nod.

However, the 2026 Grammys did feature some unexpected and pleasant surprises. Timothée Chalamet scored a nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack for his work in the film A Complete Unknown, while the hardcore band Turnstile received a remarkable five nominations, cementing their status as one of the year's most acclaimed acts.
