Grammys 2025: Big Names Absent, Unexpected Performers
30 Jan
Summary
- Major album of the year nominees Bad Bunny and Kendrick Lamar have no official roles.
- Only three artists from the 2025 Grammy telecast are returning performers.
- Trevor Noah hosts his final Grammy Awards show after six consecutive years.

The upcoming 68th annual Grammy Awards telecast in 2025 will see a notable shift in its lineup, with several major nominees absent from official roles. Album of the Year frontrunners Bad Bunny and Kendrick Lamar will not be performing or presenting, nor will other prominent nominees like SZA, Billie Eilish, and HUNTR/X. Despite these absences, their respective genres will be represented by other artists.
In a surprising turn, only three artists who performed during the 2025 Grammy telecast are returning this year: Sabrina Carpenter, Bruno Mars, and Lady Gaga. They will perform individually, unlike their collaborations last year. This year's show also features multiple past Album of the Year winners appearing as presenters or performers, including Carole King, Harry Styles, and Ms. Lauryn Hill.
Trevor Noah is slated to host the 2025 Grammy Awards for his sixth consecutive year, marking his final appearance as host. The telecast, airing on CBS and streaming on Paramount+, will also feature other comedians as presenters. An additional surprise presenter is promised for Grammy night, with most performers and presenters already announced.
