The 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala, scheduled for May 8, will celebrate 14 significant recordings. Newly announced performers include George Clinton, Heart, Lucinda Williams, and Take 6. Norah Jones, who will receive the Ray Charles Architect of Sound Award, was previously confirmed as a performer. Warner Records will also be recognized at the event.
These inductees span nearly a century of recorded music, from Bertha "Chippie" Hill's 1926 "Trouble in Mind" to Lucinda Williams' 1998 "Car Wheels on A Gravel Road." Other notable inclusions are Nick Drake's "Pink Moon," Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain," Heart's "Dreamboat Annie," and 2Pac's "All Eyez on Me."
The Grammy Hall of Fame, established by the Recording Academy's national trustees, honors recordings predating the first Grammy Awards in 1959. Currently, any recording at least 25 years old is eligible. A special committee and the Recording Academy's board of trustees select recordings based on their historical and qualitative significance.
