Gorillaz's latest release, "The Mountain," has officially claimed the No. 1 position on the U.K.'s Official Albums Chart. This achievement adds to their previous chart-toppers, "Demon Days" (2005) and "Cracker Island" (2023).
With an impressive 30,000 units sold in its debut week, "The Mountain" has been recognized as the biggest independent release of 2026 so far. The acclaimed group, led by Damon Albarn, is also slated to be the musical guest on "Saturday Night Live" this coming weekend, with Ryan Gosling hosting.
Further solidifying their presence, Gorillaz will commence a North American tour soon. They are also scheduled to headline London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in July, a venue with a capacity of 62,850.
In other chart news, Olivia Dean's "The Art of Loving" secured the No. 2 spot, following her substantial success at the 2026 BRIT Awards where she garnered four trophies. PinkPantheress's 2025 mixtape "Fancy That" surged 173 places to reach No. 5, bolstered by the growing success of her track "Stateside."
