International sales have been announced for "Gomorrah - The Origins," the prequel to the acclaimed Neapolitan mob series. Beta Film has secured distribution for the six-part series in Germany, Turkey, Australia, France, Austria, Latvia, and Greece. The series, set to air on Sky in the U.K. soon, explores the life of Pietro Savastano.
"Gomorrah - The Origins" journeys back to the 1970s, focusing on a young Pietro Savastano in Naples. Growing up in poverty, Savastano's path into crime is shaped by his environment and encounters with influential mob figures. The series is lead-directed by Marco D'Amore, who also starred in the original.
Produced by Sky Studios and Cattleya, the prequel continues the legacy of the original "Gomorrah" series, which ran for five seasons and reached 190 countries. The franchise's expansion highlights the global appeal of Italian crime dramas.
