In November 2025, Sky announced plans to launch a prequel series to its hit mob crime drama Gomorrah in early 2026. Titled Gomorrah -- The Origins, the six-part series will take viewers back to 1977 Naples, exploring the criminal coming-of-age of the young Pietro Savastano.
Pietro is a tough city kid who grew up in the poorest parts of Secondigliano, surviving on petty theft and riding his moped around town. He dreams of becoming like Angelo 'A Sirena, the neighborhood's "king." When Pietro manages to get in the graces of the young boss, he finds himself caught in a power game far beyond him, questioning whether this dark, violent criminal life is really what he wants or if his love for Imma can save him.
Produced by Sky Studios and Cattleya, the prequel series is directed by Marco D'Amore, who also served as co-writer and artistic supervisor. The show is expected to expand on one of Sky's most popular foreign dramas, inspired by Roberto Saviano's bestselling novel. With a talented cast including Luca Lubrano, Francesco Pellegrino, and Tullia Venezia, Gomorrah -- The Origins promises to deliver a gripping exploration of the origins of this beloved TV franchise.
