Sky is set to release "Gomorrah - The Series. The Origins," a prequel detailing the early life of mob boss Pietro Savastano. Set in the 1970s, the series chronicles Savastano's journey from a street kid in Naples to a powerful figure in the criminal underworld. Luca Lubrano portrays the young Savastano, navigating poverty, first love, and violence.
The prequel is directed by Marco D'Amore, who starred in the original series. He found inspiration in cinematic epics like "Once Upon a Time in America" to craft the tone for this new narrative. The show promises a different perspective on the "Gomorrah" universe, exploring its origins with a blend of historical setting and dramatic storytelling.
Produced by Sky Studios and Cattleya, the six-part limited series will debut in Italy in January 2026 and roll out across other European Sky markets, including the UK and Germany, in early 2026. This new installment follows the global success of the original "Gomorrah" series, which concluded in 2021.
