The popular Golmaal franchise is expanding with its fifth installment, Golmaal 5, which commenced filming in February 2026. Notably, actress Priyamani has been cast as the film's antagonist, a significant addition to the beloved comedy series. This marks the first time a National Award winner will portray a villainous role within the franchise.
The production features the return of the core cast, including Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, and Kunal Kemmu. Sharman Joshi also rejoins the franchise, and Akshay Kumar makes a surprise appearance. Priyamani, known for her roles in 'The Family Man' and 'Article 370', previously collaborated with director Rohit Shetty on a song in 'Chennai Express'.
Golmaal 5 is scheduled for release in early 2027. The franchise itself celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, having started with 'Golmaal: Fun Unlimited' in 2006. Alongside the main stars, veteran comedians Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari, and Ashwini Kalsekar are also returning to add to the film's signature slapstick humor.
