A new Korean crime thriller, "Gold Land," is slated for a Disney+ premiere on April 29. This marks the streaming debut for screenwriter Hwang Jo-yoon, known for his work on "Oldboy" and "Memoir of a Murderer."
"Gold Land" centers on Kim Heeju, portrayed by Park Bo-young, who is manipulated into aiding smugglers. The plot escalates as she flees with stolen gold, seeking refuge in her hometown.
The series will debut with two episodes on April 29, followed by weekly releases leading up to its May 27 finale. Kim Sung-cheol plays Woogy, one of the pursuers.
Additionally, Disney+ announced "Perfect Crown," a romantic comedy starring IU and Byeon Woo-seok, premiering April 10. This series explores a strategic marriage between royalty and a corporate heir.
These additions underscore Disney+'s commitment to expanding its Korean content offerings, which currently includes titles like "Made In Korea" and "A Shop For Killers," with more to come.
