25 Feb
Summary
- Glasgow Film Festival's Industry Focus adds a fifth day for 2026.
- New 'Made In Glasgow' day celebrates local film sector talent.
- International delegations from France and Austria to attend.

The Glasgow Film Festival's Industry Focus strand is set to grow from four to five days for its 2026 edition, scheduled for March 2-6. This expansion signals positive momentum and aims to establish the event as a key fixture in the European festival circuit. Festival Manager Samantha Bennett highlighted the increased demand from last year as the driving force behind the extra day.
A significant new initiative for 2026 is the 'Made In Glasgow' day, dedicated to celebrating the city's vibrant screen sector. This feature will showcase local distributors, production companies, and animation studios, aiming to position Glasgow as a prime destination for international productions. Additionally, the strand will introduce specialized "Meet The Decision Makers" sessions, offering focused networking opportunities with distributors, sales agents, financiers, and talent agents.
The festival is also expanding its talent development programs, with live pitches now featuring 51 filmmakers and 25 projects in its labs. For the first time, GFF will host official international delegations from France and Austria, fostering potential co-productions and long-term partnerships. Attendance is projected to increase by 15%, potentially exceeding 800 delegates.
