Gladiator II Hits Netflix: Vengeance Arrives!

Gladiator II, Ridley Scott's highly anticipated legacy sequel, is now available on Netflix, sixteen years after the original film's release. The story centers on Hanno, a man from Numidia whose life is shattered when the Roman army invades, leading to the death of his wife and his enslavement.

Upon arrival in Rome, Hanno is forced into gladiator battles by stable-keeper Macrinus, who offers him a chance at revenge against General Acacius. However, Hanno's true identity as Lucius Verus Aurelius, the exiled grandson of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, is soon unveiled.

With his imperial lineage revealed, Lucius becomes a target and an ally in a conspiracy to depose the tyrannical twin emperors, Geta and Caracalla. The film features a star-studded cast, including Paul Mescal as Hanno, Pedro Pascal as Acacius, and Connie Nielsen reprising her role as Lucilla, who has remarried Acacius.
