Summary
- Girlfriend Dy'Zetta Brown was attacked at boyfriend Joshua Allen's funeral
- Brown had a restraining order against Allen due to his mental health issues
- Brown tried desperately to get Allen help, but the system failed him

In a heartbreaking turn of events, the girlfriend of late "So You Think You Can Dance" star Joshua Allen has spoken out about the altercation that occurred at his funeral last month. Dy'Zetta Brown, who was in a nearly 4-year relationship with Allen, says she was invited by his family to the service on November 8th, 2025. However, things took a tragic turn when Brown was allegedly attacked by one of Allen's aunts as she was saying her final goodbye.
Brown reveals that she did have a restraining order against Allen at one point, but explains it was due to his mental health issues, which she had desperately tried to get him help for. "I begged law enforcement to help with his mental health—not arrest him. But no one listened," she laments. Tragically, Allen passed away in September 2025 after being struck by a train, with both Brown and his father citing his ongoing mental health struggles as a contributing factor.
Despite the family drama, Brown remembers Allen as a "kind" and "talented" individual who had so much to offer the world. She believes the system failed both her and her soulmate, and is determined to share their story in the hopes of raising awareness about the urgent need for better mental health support.
