Goodwin explained that while her sons were eager to attend the premiere and subsequent press tour, the couple wanted to manage their exposure carefully. She likened their approach to using bowling alley bumpers, aiming to keep the experience controlled. A key rule established was that the children could walk the carpets but would not be featured on social media.

The couple noted the intensity of premieres, which can shut down entire streets. To illustrate, they recalled a past event where even a few photographers seemed overwhelming to their sons. This prompted the need for a simulated experience, ensuring the boys felt more prepared for the Zootopia 2 premiere.
