Ghost Frontman Tobias Forge Debuts Horror Music Video

Mylla Films, a Swedish company founded by "Midsommar" producer Patrik Andersson and distribution expert Jakob Abrahamsson, is rapidly establishing itself as a key player in Nordic genre filmmaking. The company is attracting significant talent, including Tobias Forge, the frontman of the band Ghost. Forge will direct his first music video segment for the upcoming horror anthology film "V/H/S/ Mixtape," which is set to premiere on September 30, 2026, ahead of its Shudder release on October 9, 2026.

Another project Mylla Films is developing is "Trespassers," a €3 million ($3.4 million) horror film inspired by Nordic folk traditions. This project will be pitched at the Finnish Film Affair. "Trespassers" is the sophomore feature from director Johannes Persson, whose previous film "Feed" won an award at Sweden's Guldbagge film awards in 2023. The film's synopsis describes four young people from an anti-establishment movement who become stranded in the wilderness of Northern Sweden, only to discover they are not alone.

Mylla Films aims to 'fertilize the soil of genre filmmaking in the Nordics' with its projects. However, the company has also adapted its strategy due to challenging film financing conditions. While some higher-end projects are taking longer to develop, Mylla Films is also pursuing innovative, quick-turnaround projects like Forge's music video segment. The company's first fiction feature-length film, "Bloodsuckers," is slated for release in early 2027.
