Neighbors and local groups have voiced strong objections, citing the structure's prominent visibility, potential light pollution, and its impact on the skyline and mature trees. The couple's application to divert the public footpath has been met with resistance from the local council and Northamptonshire Ramblers, who wish to keep the path unobstructed.

This latest hurdle follows earlier complaints regarding the walker's size, location, and screening. Despite the planning agent's assurances that the structure would be discreet and screened by maturing hedges, and a heritage services team finding no objections, the couple's estate developments have previously drawn local ire, including issues with unauthorized pergolas and gazebos.
