George Strait Honored by Songwriters Hall of Fame

George Strait will be honored with the career maker award at the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony on October 26th, held at Nashville's Music City Center. This special recognition celebrates Strait's substantial influence on the careers of hall of fame songwriters.

The career maker award acknowledges individuals outside the Hall of Fame whose work has significantly aided songwriters in achieving their induction dreams. Reba McEntire was the sole previous recipient in 2018.

Throughout his career spanning over four decades, George Strait has recorded 264 songs written or co-written by 72 members of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. This includes 44 writers who were not yet in the hall when Strait first recorded their music.

This year's ceremony will also induct new members: Taylor Swift, Bruce Channel, Lyle Lovett, Shawn Camp, and Lee Thomas Miller, who will be celebrated alongside Strait.
