According to a recent interview, acclaimed actor George Clooney has made the decision to move his family out of Hollywood and onto a farm in France. Clooney, who is currently starring in the Oscar-contending film "Jay Kelly," explained that he was worried about raising his children in the fame-obsessed culture of Los Angeles.
"I was worried about raising our kids in L.A., in the culture of Hollywood," Clooney told Esquire magazine. "I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life. France -- they kind of don't give a shit about fame. I don't want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don't want them being compared to somebody else's famous kids."
Clooney, who has been making the press rounds for his Broadway run and Tony nomination, said that life on the French farm provides his family a much more grounded upbringing. "They're not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life."
The actor's decision to leave Hollywood behind comes as he continues to promote his latest film, "Jay Kelly," in which he plays a world-famous movie star facing a personal reckoning. Clooney has long been praised for his versatility, with roles spanning broad comedies and serious dramas.
