Strictly Come Dancing personality George Clarke recently became emotional on This Morning, revealing his mother Nicky's ongoing struggles with not only cancer but also a severe brain inflammation condition. The star detailed how Nicky was diagnosed with encephalitis when he was just 16.

This condition, an inflammation of the brain, led to her collapsing and being placed in a coma. Doctors initially gave her only a 20% chance of survival. Her father protected George and his siblings from the full extent of the situation.

Following her recovery from the initial crisis, Nicky experienced significant long-term effects. These include persistent memory loss, a loss of taste and smell, and difficulties with her sleeping patterns and sensitivity to loud noises.

George praised his mother's incredible resilience, noting that despite her health battles, she remains remarkably positive and selfless. He highlighted that even during her cancer treatment, she focused on apologizing to her family for the ordeal, a testament to her character.
