New principal cast members were announced earlier this week to join the show at Manhattan's Walter Kerr Theater starting September 1. Segers was set to perform opposite Amber Iman as Persephone and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Eurydice. The musical, written by Anais Mitchell, has been a critical success, earning eight Tony Awards and a Grammy.
The musical recently achieved record-breaking success with its professionally filmed capture, "Hadestown: The Musical," which grossed $10.2 million on its opening. This release surpassed the box office performance of "Hamilton."
