Cameron Mathison, who portrays Drew Cain in General Hospital, has expressed surprise at the level of animosity directed towards his character. The actor noted that in his three-decade career, he has never played a role as polarizing as Drew. Mathison shared that some fans have struggled to separate the character from the actor, leading to aggressive real-life encounters such as having apples thrown at him and nearly being hit by a car.
