Gene Simmons, the legendary KISS bassist, recently officiated the wedding of Tanner Cusumano, 32, and Maggie Steinmann Cusumano, 27, at V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena, California. Simmons, a close friend of the groom's family, was a natural choice to marry the couple whose relationship he had observed unfold. He delivered the ceremony, which included parts in German, delighting Maggie's family from Germany. The 30-minute ceremony was attended by approximately 100 guests, including notable figures like Joseph Baena.
Simmons, who celebrated his own 15th wedding anniversary with wife Shannon Tweed-Simmons shortly before the event, imparted marriage advice. He humorously advised the groom to master saying "I'm sorry" and "You're right," but seriously stressed the importance of patience and kindness. Tanner, a documentary filmmaker, and Maggie, a real estate business owner, met at Pepperdine University after Maggie moved to Malibu in 2022. The couple became engaged on February 21, 2025, during a trip to Santa Barbara.
