Gellar, who starred as the titular vampire slayer, explained that pilots are merely learning tools and not final products, thus any leaked material would not accurately reflect the intended vision for the new series. She drew a distinction between the unfinished pilot and a completed project like 'Batgirl,' which was also shelved.

Adding to the situation, Gellar noted that a version of the script she saw circulating online was "not actually correct." She implored fans not to watch leaked material, emphasizing that it would not align with the creators' vision. As an alternative, Gellar suggested fans stream the original 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' series to show their support. The reboot, titled 'Buffy: New Sunnydale,' was officially canceled by Hulu earlier this week, leaving the franchise's future uncertain.
