Gay Romance 'Waterboy' Season 2 Premieres Soon

Vertical drama studio ReelShort is set to release "Waterboy: Second Down," a sequel to its popular gay romance series, on June 16, 2026. This mobile-first drama continues the storyline of Kaden and Donovan, portrayed by rising stars Declan Clifford and Sky Kawai.

The new season picks up three years after their initial breakup, with Donovan returning to Boston, where Kaden is an intern. ReelShort, known for its serialized, short-episode format, has found success with LGBTQ+ content. "Waterboy" and other series like "Poolboy" and "Stableboy" have demonstrated a strong audience appetite for gay-themed vertical dramas. Studio Head Kate Tucker Fahlsing expressed excitement for the first true sequel, emphasizing the continuation of a story that has deeply connected with viewers.
