Summary

- Garner jokes about the 16-year age difference with Wilson.
- Season 2 features a time jump with the return of a character.

Jennifer Garner has commented on Rita Wilson's casting as her mother in the forthcoming season of "The Last Thing He Told Me." Wilson, 69, is set to portray Garner's mother, Hannah Hall, in the Apple TV series adaptation of Laura Dave's novel. Garner, 53, acknowledged at a recent book event that while Wilson is not old enough to be her actual mother, Hollywood often plays loosely with age representation.
Garner suggested that viewers "don't look too much into it" regarding the 16-year age difference between herself and Wilson. She teased that their characters share a "really complicated" emotional connection. The series' second season picks up after a five-year time jump, following the disappearance of Hannah's husband, Owen, and will explore Hannah and her stepdaughter Bailey's efforts to reunite their family.
The upcoming season also welcomes Judy Greer, reuniting her with Garner from their 2004 film "13 Going on 30." The actresses shared photos from their time filming in Paris. Season 2 of "The Last Thing He Told Me" is scheduled to premiere on February 20.
