Spider-Man near miss: Garfield & Bell's casting race revealed

Over a decade ago, both Andrew Garfield and Jamie Bell were serious contenders to portray the web-slinging superhero in the 2012 film, The Amazing Spider-Man.
During a recent joint appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the actors revealed that they only just discussed their shared history regarding the Spider-Man casting for the first time. Bell recounted a dinner where, after a salt shaker fell, both he and Garfield instinctively reached for it, prompting onlookers to exclaim, "Spidey senses!"
Bell, who had previously stated he screen-tested for the role, acknowledged that Garfield was the right choice. "He's a phenomenal actor," Bell commented.
More than ten years after the casting process, Bell and Garfield have reunited for their new project, The Uprising. This period drama is set against the backdrop of the 1381 Peasants' Revolt in England, where they portray leaders of the rebellion.
