Tonight, a VERZUZ battle will pit Compton's own The Game against YG, live from Los Angeles. This clash of West Coast hip-hop titans streams at 6:30 p.m. PST on Apple Music and Complex's Instagram.
The matchup highlights two distinct eras of Los Angeles rap. The Game rose to prominence following Dr. Dre's foundation, establishing himself with his 2005 debut "The Documentary." His career features collaborations with major artists and numerous rivalries.
YG, also from Compton, emerged nearly a decade later. His 2014 album "My Krazy Life" defined a generation of West Coast music, blending street narratives with infectious, party-ready energy driven by Mustard's production.
This event aims to settle the debate for West Coast rap supremacy, featuring iconic tracks from both artists, such as The Game's "Hate It or Love It" and YG's "BPT."
